The terms and conditions contained within this document govern the use of our website and the purchase of goods and services from us. They are designed to ensure that our clients are assured of a secure, convenient and enjoyable on-line shopping experience.  Clients must be at least 18 years old to purchase goods and/or services on our site.

All policies are current at the time of display. Policies are subject to variation and we reserve the right to alter them for any reason and without notice.

WE NEVER SELL OR SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH OTHER COMPANIES

The Perfect Gift recognises that when you choose to provide us with information about yourself, you trust us to act in a responsible manner. We believe this information should only be used to help us provide you with better service. That’s why we have put a policy in place to protect your personal information.

Why we collect personal information

The Perfect Gift collects and uses your personal information to give you superior customer service, to provide you with convenient access to our products and services, and to make a wider range available to you. In addition, we use your personal information to keep you up to date on the latest product announcements, special offers, and other information we think you’d like to hear about. From time to time, we may also use your personal information to contact you to participate in a market research survey, so that we can gauge customer satisfaction and develop our product range and services.

In general, when you visit our website and access information you remain anonymous. However, we collect personal information in three situations:

1.	Ordering Products	When ordering Products from The Perfect Gift, we request billing and shipping information, such as your name, street address, email address, and telephone number. This information will remain confidential and will only be used for our personal database so we can process and ship your order.
2.	Submitting Feedback	If you have a question or concern, you may submit feedback via our Client Support page. We request your name, email address, and phone numbers in order to respond to your comments as quickly and efficiently as possible. This information will not be shared with third parties or used for other purposes.
3.	Choosing to become a valued client of The Perfect Gift	You may decide that you prefer the convenience of becoming a valued client of The Perfect Gift. To save you having to re-enter your details each time you visit our site and employ our services you may create a username and password. The system saves your information and assigns you a personal System ID. Next time you log into our site you can simply enter your username and password - the system will automatically look up the information it needs. By utilising the convenience of becoming a valued client you agree to provide us with current, complete and accurate customer information. If you forget your password we will email your password reminder to the current email address held on file. Valued client accounts are non-transferable. You may update, edit or terminate your client account at any time.

We respect your privacy by not selling or sharing this information with outside companies or third parties. (With the exception of our courier company for the sole purpose of delivering your order)

Verification of Valued Client details

We do employ various methods to verify information given to us by our clients. From time to time we may compare client names with those used on credit card payments. We may use a clients phone number or email address provided to us to contact a client regarding an order.

A note about Cookies

Like many websites, The Perfect Gift site uses “cookie” technology. When you first connect to our site, the cookie identifies your browser with a unique, random number. Cookies enable our systems to recognise your browser and welcome you back to the Store. Cookies help us understand which parts of our websites are the most popular, where our visitors are going, and how long they spend there. We use cookies to analyse trends and demographics and study traffic patterns on our site so we can improve our services, products and site for our browsing clients. Our cookies do not send back any information about your computer or any other information on your hard drive.

When we disclose personal information

Any personal information you provide to The Perfect Gift will only be used to notify you of our offers, information and activities. The Perfect Gift will hold the information about you securely and will not disclose it except for this purpose or if required by law. The Privacy Act gives you the right to see and correct any inaccuracies in your personal information The Perfect Gift holds about you.

How we protect your personal information and how you can protect yourself

The Perfect Gift safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. We urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. Change your passwords often, use a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure you use a secure browser. Sign out or close your browser to complete your session on our site. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your valued client username and password and the security of and restricting access to your computer. By creating a valued client login you accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your login and password.

Our website may contain links to other reputable sites which you may find of relevant value to you. If you use any link provided on our site we cannot accept any responsibility for any dealings/transactions with that separate company that ensue as a result. We do not share your personal information with those websites and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to familiarise yourself with the privacy policies of those companies.

Online Security Policy

Our server uses Internet-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) channel encryption to protect the credit card information. Support for SSL encryption is built into standard Web browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. Furthermore, and perhaps most importantly, our server fully supports the use of state-of-the-art 128-bit encryption to scramble your details, making them indecipherable to any electronic eavesdropper.

At no time are your credit card details visible to The Perfect Gift. All credit card payments are handled in real-time by Direct Payment Solutions. The Perfect Gift does not store any credit card information.

To ensure that your credit card or other personal details are kept secure in transit on the Internet, we use a Thawte Consulting 128-bit digital certificate to encrypt the data going to and from the web site. Look for the secure page entry messages that you get notified from your browser and for the web address to change to “https” (secure web page transfers). We have also provided a link through a Thawte Consulting logo to their web site and this will inform you of the confirmed security details for the digital certificate.

128-bit encryption

Until recently, 40-bit was the most common form of encryption used in this country for electronic commerce and it proved very adequate. After the US Federal Government finally relaxed the limitations on exporting encryption technologies from the US in Jan 2000, 128-bit technology was made available to other countries. The latest browsers from Microsoft and Netscape now support 128-bit technology, and upgrades from 40-bit to 128-bit encryption are available free on their respective web sites. 128 bit encryption offers significantly more protection. It is roughly 309,485,009,821,345,068,724,781,056 times stronger than 40-bit technology. Electronic transactions using 128-bit encryption are now arguably the safest way to use your credit cards.

The Perfect Gift takes all aspects of the security of customer information very seriously.  Any customer details retained by us, such as customer names, addresses and purchase history etc, are stored in state-of-the-art firewall protected computers and in a password protected database. Only staff members with a genuine requirement for the information are given access. You may be assured of our continued commitment to full security in all our transactions with you.

Confirmation emails of your order are sent to you the customer.

Viruses

The Perfect Gift endeavour to ensure that that our website and electronic communications are virus free. However, it is your responsibility to scan any such data for viruses.

Gift Wrapping Policy

We offer a complementary gift-wrapping service. Due to practicality of size limitations certain items may be excluded from this service (such as barbecues and pillows for example).  In most cases this is noted on the product page.  No compensation is available for any item not being gift-wrapped as it is a gratis service we extend to our clients. 

Gift Certificates Terms and Conditions

Gift Certificates are non-refundable, not exchangeable for cash, not valid for purchasing further Gift Certificates and no change will be given.  They are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. It is the responsibility of the Gift Certificate holder to redeem it prior to the expiry date as we are unable to amend the date once a Certificate has been issued.

Redeeming The Perfect Gift Certificate

You must specify at the time of the order that you are redeeming a Gift Certificate as we cannot retrospectively accept a Gift Certificate for an order that has already been paid for. You must use the entire value of the Gift Certificate in a single order. Gift Certificates cannot be used to purchase further Gift Certificates.
